D’Angelo Studio offers rigorous, college-level theatre and performance training in an intimate, small-group setting where artists can work, experiment, take risks, and grow. Led by Stacey D’Angelo, B.F.A., M.F.A., the studio brings together traditional conservatory training, contemporary performance practice, and decades of experience as a theatre artist, director, educator, mentor, and creative leader. Stacey earned her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College, with training across acting, voice, music, dance, and movement, and her M.F.A. in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University, expanding her practice into physical, experimental, ensemble-based, and contemporary approaches to performance and the creation of new work.

More Than One Way Into the Work

There is no single way into a character, a song, a scene, or a story.

Training draws from a range of professional techniques and practices, including Meisner, Grotowski-based physical acting, Roy Hart vocal technique, Viewpoints, Laban, Moment Work, acting through song, devised theatre, scene and character work, audition technique, movement, vocal exploration, and ensemble practice. Rather than prescribing a single method, Stacey helps performers develop a broad artistic toolbox—learning to make specific choices, trust their instincts, take creative risks, and discover the approaches that bring greater freedom and authenticity to their work.

Stacey has spent decades working as a performer, director, theatre-maker, educator, and mentor, while developing and leading college-level creative arts education. Her work has included training performers, directing productions, developing curriculum and new creative programs, mentoring emerging artists, building professional arts partnerships, and creating opportunities that connect students to the creative industries.

As Dean of Creative Enterprises at the Community College of Aurora, Stacey works at the intersection of arts education, professional practice, and creative opportunity—giving her a unique perspective on the journey from developing foundational technique to college training and professional creative work. D’Angelo Studio brings that experience into a personal, small-group environment with individualized coaching, meaningful feedback, ensemble connection, and room to explore.
